Aino Efraimsson is a Finnish-Sri Lankan Feminist, development professional and coordination specialist, with a passion for creating inclusive and gender-responsive organizations. Drawing on more than 15 years of experience in international development and seven years navigating and thriving with the complexities of multi-lateral organisations and multi-cultural environments with UNDP, UN Women, the Resident Coordinator System, and the Development Coordination Office. Across these, her focus has been on gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE), LGBTIQ+, PSEA and disability inclusion, particularly shifting organizational cultures and strengthening internal accountability on these issues, while at the same time never losing sight of the need to deliver results. Aino has spearheaded innovations and pilots that have been globally recognized as best practices. With a passion for facilitating collaborative thinking and creating more inclusive organizations, Aino believes deeply in the need to look inwards with as much courage and reflection as we do the external world we seek to change and the communities we wish to serve.
